Chemistry is a wide-ranging subject with many potential applications in medicine, electricity generation and storage, and even molecular computing.  We want to inspire students of all ages and abilities through practical chemistry.

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford is continually developing its outreach programme to fulfil the following aims:

To encourage students from all backgrounds to consider higher education by providing them with information and experiences that help them make informed decisions about their future.

To encourage students to study chemistry, through delivering exciting and engaging workshops and by developing their understanding of the careers available in chemistry.

To support the teaching of chemistry in schools by providing access to undergraduate level equipment and teaching staff for students, and CPD and resources for teachers.

SALTERS Festival of Chemistry - Applications Open

In 2019, Oxford will be running two separate festivals, one for Y7/8 (20th March) and one for Y9 (21st March).
Note that students who have attended the Y7/8 festival may not do so the following year, but the are eligible to attend the Y9 festival.

UNIQ 2019 - Applications Open

UNIQ is an access programme for Year 12 students in their first year of A-Levels (or equivalent) at UK* state schools/colleges/sixth forms/academies.

Successful candidates will come to Oxford for five days, stay in a college, attend an academic programme in a subject of your choice during the day, and take part in social activities in the evenings. You’ll get first-hand experience of life at university, meet like-minded people and gain deeper understanding of a subject that interests you.

UK Chemistry Olympiad - Registration Open

Help your post-16 students to develop higher order thinking and problem-solving skills. Applications are open from 1 October until 21 December 2018. Full details here
